As our proximity to the end approaches zero,
the value of each moment approaches infinity.
Death, the ultimate mathematical limit,
gathers the moments
of our lives into a single unit,
The integral, area under the curve of life,
the sum of an infinite accumulation of infinitesimal changes.
The derivative is a heart marking the pace,
the rate of our days,
bounded by experience and interpretation.
The limits of our humanity
are defined by our memories and purpose,
while death,
the inescapable boundary condition,
defines our mortality.
Death, the boundary where the asymptotic curve
is no longer a sequence of changing values
but a single static truth.

I didn’t do well in calculus class, but I liked some of the words: integral, derivative, asymptotic, area under the curve…
