The Language We Use

If I say I am confused,
is that my reality?

I read somewhere
that the language we use
structures the reality we inhabit.

Apparently,
reality can change moment by moment
depending on the words used to describe it.

If I say I am happy, that is my reality;
if I say I am sad, that is a different reality.

Do I really choose my reality,
or does reality choose words
that I think I chose?

If you’re confused by this poem, don’t feel bad,
just change the words. I won’t be offended because
I’m really just making this shit up.
