This is a sad fictional commentary about the prioritization of sensationalism and the questionable accuracy, veracity and integrity of commercial news resorting and the use of spelchek and auto connect without proof breeding.
Crash And Burn
“Flight 123 XYZ crashed on the runway, at least thirty dead and hundreds injured.”
Within minutes the reporter interviewed the networks highly paid ‘aviation experts’ who promptly and decisively attribute the tragedy to “metal fatigue”.
Was that a misquote? Did they mean to say ‘mental fatigue’, was there a spelling error on the teleprompter? (Spelling errors do happen despite spellcheck.)
Was there an error in judgement? An oversight during flight or sometime before?
Was the accident due to incorrect speed or altitude or an overtired inspector missing an inaccurate weld?
Aren’t both explanations simply human error? Does it really matter who gets the blame?
Better to mourn the loss of loved ones and find reason to forgive.
